Brief

With over 15 years of combined experience in engineering consultancy and research, Dr. Zayed's combines PhD-level expertise with professional engineering skills to meet critical project specifications and requirements. He specializes in leading and managing the structural and geotechnical engineering aspects for foundation design of major energy projects as well as tall buildings, working with monopiles and jacket substructures for offshore platforms, shallow and deep foundations as well as geotechnical site-specific interpretation.

Muhammad earned his PhD in Structural Engineering (Geotechnical focus) from University of California, where he conducted a variety of research both experimentally and numerically. His doctoral dissertation primarily focused on dynamic soil-foundation-interaction for offshore structures, and liquefaction-induced lateral spreading. He authored and co-authored more than a dozen scientific articles. An active member of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) and its Geo-Institute, he holds Professional Engineer (PE) practice licenses in several jurisdictions, including California, Illinois, New Jersey, New York, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Virginia.

During his career, Dr. Zayed has taught various geotechnical engineering and foundation design classes, and played a major role in many projects across Egypt, USA, and Japan.

- Recipient of the 2018 ISSMGE Bright Spark Lecture Award.
- Recipient of the 2019 ASCE Dams and Moore Graduate Fellowship.
