نبذة مختصرة
Mr. Raslan is currently employed as a Teaching Assistant at the Irrigation and Hydraulics Department, Faculty of Engineering, Ain Shams University, and is enrolled as a Ph.D. Candidate in Water Resources Management and Environmental Engineering, with graduation anticipated in 2025. Research is concentrated on the application of machine learning to groundwater management, with the thesis entitled "Groundwater Mapping Using Machine Learning-Based Models." An M.Sc. in Water Resources Management and Environmental Engineering was obtained in 2020, and a B.Sc. in Civil Engineering was completed in 2016 with honors, securing the highest rank in the class.
Research interests encompass machine learning, groundwater management, 1D hydraulic modeling, and water resources management in arid regions. The M.Sc. thesis, "Water Resources Management in New Reclamation Lands," was successfully completed, and the B.Sc. graduation project, focused on flood protection and storm drainage design for Ras Abo El-Darag resort area, was awarded an excellent grade. Contributions have been made to ongoing research efforts, particularly in applying machine learning techniques to improve water resource assessments.
Since October 2016, tutorials and assessment activities have been conducted as a Teaching Assistant to support the Intended Learning Objectives (ILOs) for undergraduate courses, including:
Networks Hydraulic Analysis (including laboratory work)
Open Channel Hydraulics (including laboratory work)
Fluid Mechanics (including laboratory work)
Irrigation and Drainage Engineering
Design of Irrigation Structures
Civil Drawing
Groundwater Hydrogeology
Environmental Hydrology
Fundamental Engineering
Through problem-solving and result analysis, students’ understanding of scientific concepts from lectures is supported. Additionally, from 2020 to 2024, membership was maintained in the Exchanges, Training, and Scholarship Committee at the Center of Excellence for Water, a USAID-funded initiative, where guidance on educational and professional development opportunities was provided.
